Add HomeMate Smart products in AP mode (Access Point of WiFi device mode)

If Wi-Fi is not available, below are the steps to connect HomeMate Smart products directly through WiFi of the device. Let's take example of Smart Breaker:

  1. First you need to make sure that the Wi-Fi LED indicator on the Smart Breaker must be slow flashing (Follow point No. 2 below under troubleshooting)
  2. Open HomeMate Smart App and Tap '+' at the top right corner or 'Add device' button on the Home screen.
  3. On the Top Right corner, tap on AP Mode and make sure that AP Mode is selected.
     



  4. Tap on "Next"
  5. Type Wi-Fi password and tap on "Next"



  6. Now the screen will show you "How to connect with the Smart Life Hotspot", follow the process or you can simply tap on "Go to Connect" it will open Wi-Fi selection page.



  7. Connect with "SmartLife-XXXX" Open Wi-Fi connection then come back to the HomeMate Smart App. 



  8. You will see Adding screen.



  9. Your Smart breaker (Lamp Switch) will get added.


Important Note -

  1. Device connected in AP mode can only be controlled only when Phone is connected to access point of smart breaker and cannot be control from outside the network.
  2. No Internet connectivity in AP mode to the device, means device cannot be control from outside device WiFi and third party control like Alexa / Google assistant support will not be there.

Troubleshooting


CAUTION : RISK OF ELECTRONIC SHOCK OR BURNS - USE IN DRY LOCATION ONLY. 

1. How to set indicator light as rapid flashing?

  1. Power on device, power off after 10s and then power on.
  2. hold the reset button for 5s.
  3. Confirm indicator light is now rapidly flashing.

2. How to set indicator light as slow flashing?

  1. Power on device power off after 10s and then power on.
  2.  hold the reset button for 5s.
  3. Confirm indicator light is now rapidly flashing.
  4. Hold reset button for 5s until indicator light is slowly flashing.

Note: The newly added device needs 1 min to connect to Wi-Fi and the Internet. If it stays offline for a long please judge the problem Wi-Fi LED status.

  1. Maybe you have entered wrong Wi-Fi password.
  2.  Wi-Fi Switch is too far away from your Wi-Fi please take it closer.
  3. Make sure your router is MAC open.
  4. if still failed, try to open a mobile hotspot and add again.

Loss or damages resulting from un-authorized adaptations/adjustments/tampering/improper installation of the product are not covered. Also, Accidental/Physical/Water damages and damages due to High Voltage burnouts are out of the purview.
